Taurus, a Swiss digital asset infrastructure provider backed by Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse, has introduced an open-source confidential token standard for debt and equity tokenization. This standard is designed to help financial institutions tokenize financial assets on public blockchains while keeping customer privacy intact.

The smart contract is designed in collaboration with the Aztec Foundation to give issuers control over who can see information about tokenized assets without compromising compliance, the Swiss firm said in a press release shared with crypto.news.

The technology uses Aztec Network’s layer-2 protocol and zero-knowledge proofs to keep blockchain transactions private. The code, written in Noir, an open-source language for zero-knowledge apps, also implements a private version of the CMTAT security token.
