The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Crypto Task Force met with representatives from Grayscale Investments to discuss allowing exchange-traded products to engage in crypto staking.

미국 증권 거래위원회 (SEC)의 암호 화폐 태스크 포스는 그레이 스케일 투자의 대표들과 만나 교환 거래 제품이 암호화 스테이 킹에 참여할 수 있도록 논의했습니다.

According to a report by Wu Blockchain, the meeting took place on April 21, and the task force was applying for an amendment to its 19b-4 Form filings for the Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) and Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH).

WU Blockchain의 보고서에 따르면, 회의는 4 월 21 일에 열렸으며, 태스크 포스는 Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) 및 Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH)에 대한 19B-4 양식 제출에 대한 수정안을 신청하고있었습니다.

The firm is aiming to enable the relevant funds to participate in staking activities.

"Currently, spot ETH ETPs do not represent the underlying ETH completely, because they are not currently permitted to engage in staking. This difference is especially evident in terms of total returns generated since launch.

"현재 Spot ETH ETP는 현재 스테이 킹에 관여 할 수 없기 때문에 기본 ETP를 완전히 나타내지 않습니다.이 차이는 특히 발사 이후 발생한 총 수익률 측면에서 분명합니다.

Since the launch of the first U.S. ETH ETP in November 2021, U.S. ETPs have missed out on approximately $61 million in potential staking rewards and are at a competitive disadvantage to international ETH ETPs, which already offer such products and collect staking rewards.

Moreover, engaging in staking is a natural progression for ETH ETPs to better track the underlying index and maintain competitiveness in the ETP market," the statement reads.

This comes as several other institutions are also planning to launch spot Bitcoin ETFs later this year.
