Uniswap's Layer 2 solution, focusing on DeFi, Unichain, has announced that its public mainnet will launch in early 2025. The Layer 2 network, which is designed to enhance the scalability and efficiency of decentralized finance applications, will be developed on the OP Stack.

Unichain Testnet Surpasses 50 Million Transactions

Unichain, which has been running on the Sepolia testnet since October, has reportedly achieved several major milestones. According to Uniswap's blog post, the testnet has processed over 50 million transactions and deployed upwards of 4 million smart contracts.

To mitigate risks inherent in single-sequencer systems, Unichain will deploy the Unichain Validation Network. This decentralized network will be composed of independent node operators responsible for validating the state of the blockchain.
