英国高等裁判所、クレイグ・ライト氏の資産に対して世界凍結命令を発令

英国高等裁判所は、2019年に起業家でポッドキャスト司会者のピーター・マコーマックを訴えたオーストラリアのコンピュータ科学者クレイグ・ライト氏の資産に対して世界凍結命令（「WFO」）を出した。

A UK High Court has issued a World Freezing Order against the assets of Australian computer scientist Craig Wright. This comes after McCormack’s application for a WFO against Wright was granted by the court.

英国高等裁判所はオーストラリアのコンピューター科学者クレイグ・ライト氏の資産に対して世界凍結命令を出した。これは、マコーマック氏によるライトに対するWFO申請が裁判所によって認められた後に行われた。

The order aims to help McCormack recover over £1.5 million ($1.9 million) in legal fees, as stated in legal documents filed on Friday, July 5.

7月5日金曜日に提出された法的文書に記載されているように、この命令はマコーマックが150万ポンド（190万ドル）以上の訴訟費用を回収するのを助けることを目的としている。

In 2019, Wright filed a libel case against McCormack, accusing him of defamation over remarks that Wright was not Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. However, Wright lost that case in August 2022, and an appeal was dismissed on July 26, 2023. The UK Supreme Court also refused Wright’s appeal in December 2023.

2019年、ライト氏はビットコインの創始者サトシ・ナカモトではないという発言を巡り、名誉毀損でマコーマック氏に対する名誉毀損訴訟を起こした。しかし、ライト氏は2022年8月にこの訴訟で敗訴し、上告は2023年7月26日に棄却された。英国最高裁判所も2023年12月にライト氏の上告を棄却した。

Justice Mellor noted the developments around the COPA Trial in his judgment. In May 2024, the judge ruled that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto or the creator of Bitcoin. The ruling also stated that Craig did not write the Bitcoin White Paper, which introduced the world’s largest digital asset.

Peter McCormack shared the latest verdict against Wright in this matter, noting that a worldwide freezing order “in the sum of £1.548m” was to aid in the recovery of his legal fees.
