Stacks, formerly known as Blockstack, is a layer-1 blockchain that builds on Bitcoin to support smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps). Its unique approach leverages Bitcoin's security and immutability, enabling these applications and contracts to interact with BTC as a foundational asset and have their transactions committed directly to the Bitcoin blockchain.

Another crucial aspect is sBTC, which facilitates smart contracts on Bitcoin by harnessing the vast hash power of the BTC network and enabling direct contract interactions with the Bitcoin blockchain.
