Polygon recently announced the integration of Farcaster Frames. The announcement revealed support for Polygon (MATIC) Proof of Stake (PoS) transactions and a subsequent 500K MATIC grant for developers building on the platform.

Frames allow users of the social media platform to perform key on-chain activities, such as minting NFTs, placing bets and predictions, and signing up for events, directly from the Farcaster feed. The platform has been touted as the next frontier in social media, and its unique value proposition has fueled its rapid growth.

The integration of Polygon PoS will enable users to execute these functionalities quickly, efficiently, and at a fraction of the cost. One application that has already integrated with Frame is Polymarket, the leading decentralized prediction market. This integration will allow users to predict and make bets on hotly contested topics like crypto, sports, and elections. Polymarket is widely regarded as the flagship crypto application built on Polygon PoS.

To further engage users (builders), Polygon has announced a new grant of 500K MATIC. The development team confirms that this amount is allocated from the Community Treasury 1,000,000,000 POL grants program. The grant will enable builders on Polygon PoS to try out Frames and the Frames builder on Farcaster and build on Polygon PoS.

Meanwhile, Polygon’s MATIC has seen significant price action amid these developments. At the last check, MATIC was trading at $0.508, showing a 2.20% surge in the last 24 hours.

This is in contrast to big brother Ethereum, which saw a steady price increase. This price momentum of MATIC highlights a lack of confidence in the long-term prospects of the token.
