Public distributed ledger platform Hedera announced the launch of AI Studio, an open-source toolkit for building trusted artificial intelligence (AI) applications on its network, during an event in Toronto on May 14.

The modular platform allows developers and enterprises to build intelligent systems with task automation, AI-driven tokenization, and auditable communication between agents using natural language or simple commands.

According to Hashgraph’s Senior Product Manager, Ty Smith, the toolkit addresses the critical aspect of AI reliability by anchoring workflows in Hedera’s immutable timestamping and fair-ordering consensus mechanisms.

Key components of the toolkit include the ElizaOS Plugin, facilitating natural language interaction with the Hedera network; the Hedera Agent Kit, a Javascript-compatible SDK for developing agents; OpenConvAI (HCS-10), a protocol for decentralized messaging between agents; and the MCP Server, connecting AI agents to external data sources.

The team explained to Bitcoin.com News that the studio leverages Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) for tamper-proof logging of all relevant data and Hedera Token Service (HTS) for standardizing transactions, ensuring compliance and auditability from any regulator.

Shaw Walters, Founder of Eliza Labs, appreciated Hedera’s “execution-oriented” approach and the integration of its Eliza AI Agentic Framework. This framework, designed for coordinating and deploying intelligent agents across blockchain environments, is now part of the Hedera Agent Kit.
