Coinbase has announced that it will be suspending its USDC stablecoin rewards program in the European Economic Area (EEA) on December 1, following the arrival of Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations next month.

Coinbaseは、来月の暗号資産市場（MiCA）規制の導入を受けて、欧州経済領域（EEA）におけるUSDCステーブルコイン報酬プログラムを12月1日に一時停止すると発表した。

Coinbase users in the EEA were notified of the suspension via email on November 28, 2024. The exchange has taken this step to comply with new compliance requirements for stablecoins, which are classified as e-money tokens under MiCA.

EEA内のCoinbaseユーザーは、2024年11月28日に電子メールで一時停止の通知を受けた。取引所は、MiCAの下で電子マネートークンとして分類されるステーブルコインの新しいコンプライアンス要件に準拠するためにこの措置を講じた。

Coinbase’s USDC rewards program, which offers daily yields with varying annual percentage yields (APY) based on locations, is available in over 100 jurisdictions globally. However, the EEA suspension will impact users in 30 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

CoinbaseのUSDC報酬プログラムは、場所に応じて年率利回り（APY）が異なる毎日の利回りを提供するもので、世界中の100以上の管轄区域で利用可能です。ただし、EEAの停止はフランス、ドイツ、イタリア、スペインを含む30カ国のユーザーに影響を与える。

Holders of USDC in the EEA will continue earning yields on their balances until November 30, with accrued rewards to be distributed within the first 10 business days of December.

EEA内のUSDC保有者は11月30日まで残高から利回りを獲得し続け、発生した報酬は12月の最初の10営業日以内に分配されます。

MiCA, the landmark crypto legislation in the EU, aims to create a standard regulatory framework for crypto assets in the bloc. These new regulations have forced many crypto businesses to reassess their operations.

MiCA は EU における画期的な暗号法であり、域内の暗号資産に対する標準的な規制枠組みを作成することを目的としています。これらの新たな規制により、多くの暗号通貨ビジネスは業務の再評価を余儀なくされています。

Earlier in October, Coinbase announced plans to remove all non-compliant stablecoins from its platform in MiCA-regulated regions. Similarly, Bitstamp delisted Tether’s euro-pegged stablecoin EURt, while Binance restricted services involving unregulated stablecoins earlier this year.

Coinbaseは10月初め、MiCA規制地域のプラットフォームから非準拠のステーブルコインをすべて削除する計画を発表した。同様に、ビットスタンプはテザーのユーロペッグステーブルコインEURtを上場廃止し、バイナンスは今年初めに規制されていないステーブルコインに関わるサービスを制限した。

On November 27, Tether also confirmed that it will support the discontinuation of EURt, with CEO Paolo Ardoino expressing concerns about potential systemic risks under MiCA.
