Blast, an Ethereum Layer-2 (L2) network, has halved the time it takes to bridge assets from Blast to Ethereum Mainnet, reducing the waiting period from 14 days to seven days.

The update was announced by Blast on July 16 via a social media post. It comes after a four-month analysis of withdrawal activity.

According to the network, the analysis showed that a smaller buffer would still accommodate almost all withdrawal requests.

The network’s X, formerly Twitter, account recently removed mentions of “Layer-2” from its handle and details, prompting some to speculate that the rollup plans to become a standalone network.
