Two Bitcoin (BTC) investors, who had been silent for more than a decade, made a reappearance on Monday, transferring a combined total of 2,343 Bitcoin, worth roughly $325 million, at current prices.
This activity sparked interest among members of the cryptocurrency community.
What Happened: According to on-chain tracker Spot On Chain, the first whale moved 2,343 Bitcoin, worth $222.2 million, to a new wallet after 10.5 years of inactivity. The second whale, who had been dormant for over 11 years, resurfaced and shifted 1,079 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $102.5 million.
Dormant wallets, especially those holding large amounts of Bitcoin, are often linked to early adopters or miners who bought into the asset when it was just a fraction of today's price.
These moves could be driven by recovered keys, changes in ownership, or long-term holders deciding to cash out after years of holding onto their coins.
