The broader cryptocurrency market has been showing mixed signals today with Bitcoin breaking above $97K for the first time since late February while leading altcoins failed to catch up with the momentum.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading near $96,803 and it marked a daily high of $97,436 during early trading hours. It has steadily gained over the past 3 days, and analysts are now expecting it to break above $100k by the weekend.
From the leading altcoins, none have shown any notable traction in the past 24 hours, with ETH still trading in the $1,800 range and XRP consolidating near $2.20 – both at key resistance levels. Besides, BNB, SOL, and ADA also keep trading near daily opening price marks.
Among today’s top gainers, IMX is leading with surging 12% today, which is followed by 8% gains from QNT and EOS. Other gainers include XMR, VIRTUAL, and RAY, all spiking nearly 4% while IP, WAL, and LTC have gained 2% in the past 24 hours.
The PENGU token leads the losing group with an 8% decline, which is followed by a 7% decrease in FET and ENA.
