ai16z Founder Shaw Visits Korea, Discusses Token Value and AI Agent Applications
AI Agent Project ai16z Founder Shaw visited Korea and stated on the 3rd, "We are exploring various ways to increase the value of tokens."
Shaw attended the 'ai16z Meetup' event held at Hashed's headquarters in Seoul and said, "(Token issuance) is very useful for growing AI projects and securing early investors." Shaw mentioned, "We are looking for various ways to increase token value," and added, "This will encourage more people to participate in our ecosystem."
Shaw emphasized the goals of ai16z. He said, "We believe AI agents are useful in solving complex financial problems," and "(ai16z) simplifies complex issues by having AI agents respond to user inquiries."
He also mentioned the uniqueness of ai16z. Shaw expressed skepticism about "large language models (LLM) directly analyzing financial signals and trading based on them," stating, "If the market is good, it can achieve some results, but what we consider original is a model utilizing collective intelligence." He continued, "Ultimately, ai16z does not make investment decisions solely based on LLM," and "We are writing a paper on the (collective intelligence-based) approach and plan to release it as open source."
Regarding areas where AI agents can be applied, he said, "Games are the most representative example." Shaw stated, "(AI agents) have the potential to provide users with diverse gaming experiences," and "(We are already) developing several games, including Small World." He mentioned, "Small World, which is in the final stages of prototyping, is a new type of game that couldn't be created before."
Meanwhile, ai16z is a venture capital (VC) operated based on AI agents. ai16z's assets under management (AUM) amount to $37 million (approximately 5.4 billion KRW), with an annual return rate of 85%.
