Coinbase Makes History by Becoming the First Crypto Entity to Join the S&P 500

Coinbase has become the first crypto entity to join the S&P 500, likely to cause Bitcoin and projects like BTC Bull Token ($BTCBULL) to rally.

The good news was announced by the Coinbase CEO, Brian Armstrong himself, via an X post, where he stated that ‘crypto is here to stay.’

According to his words, "Coinbase is the first crypto company to join the S&P 500, marking a new chapter in the integration of digital assets into the mainstream financial system.

He also stated in a follow-up post that ‘crypto is about to be in everyone’s 401k’ and that one of his goals is to list Coinbase in the COIN50 index within the next 5-10 years.

This news comes in the context of increased Bitcoin adoption, with corporations being the biggest winners of 2025.

Strategy’s Bitcoin investments have spanned across almost five years and have occurred at a rate that essentially surpasses the current mining capabilities.

$BTC analyst, Adam Livingston, published a comprehensive X post where he explained how Strategy is ‘synthetically halving Bitcoin’ due to buying more than half of what miners can produce.

Metaplanet’s crypto investments have paid off big, with the company’s market cap witnessing a staggering 7,208% growth in 2024, alongside a 500% increase in the number of shareholders.

This accelerated growth is similar to what Strategy has experienced after diving into the Bitcoin pool, with its stocks surging from $13.49 to $404.90 for a 2,900% boost.
