The Virtuals Protocol price dropped 12% in the last 24 hours to trade at $1.43 as of 10:18 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Despite the strong pullback throughout the past trading session, the VIRTUAL price is still up more than 8% on the longer-term weekly time frame.

Virtuals Protocol Price Tries To Reclaim A Recently-Lost Support

The Virtuals Protocol price is attempting to overcome the resistance at $1.5211 after the crypto lost the support of this level in the last 24 hours, according to data from GeckoTerminal. Should the crypto recover to back above this price point, it could try to overcome the next barrier at $1.8054. In an extreme bullish case, VIRTUAL might even rise to as high as $2.0690.

However, a rejection from the $1.5211 mark within the next 24 hours could invalidate the bullish thesis. Traders might then offload more of their holdings in the altcoin on the market in this more bearish scenario. This potential sell pressure could result in a drop to the nearest support level at $1.2991.

Sellers Maintain Control Of The Virtuals Protocol Price

From a technical standpoint, indicators on VIRTUAL’s 4-hour chart warn a bearish scenario is more likely to play out in the short term. Short-term Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) show the Virtuals Protocol price will have a tough task ahead if it wants to rise in the next 24 hours.

That’s as the 9 and 20 EMAs are positioned above the current Virtuals Protocol price. As such, these momentum indicators are acting as a dynamic resistance against the crypto’s price. They’re also strengthening the $1.5211 barrier.

Sellers also seem to have the upper hand on VIRTUAL’s charts. This is after RSI readings dropped from above 50 to the high 30s. The current value also suggests there is room for the Virtuals Protocol price to fall before it enters oversold territory. Additionally, the negative slope of the RSI line warns sellers have no intention of easing their pressure on the altcoin’s price.

While VIRTUAL tries to reclaim a key support level, investors are rushing to the MIND of Pepe (MIND) presale with time running out.
