Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, is venturing into a new domain with his startup, World, which officially launches its U.S. operations Thursday.
Altman's eye-scanning venture, previously known as Worldcoin, is unveiling six flagship U.S. retail locations in Austin, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Nashville, Miami and San Francisco.
First reported by The Information, the venture also announced two major partnerships at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday.
Better known for its role in the generative AI boom, OpenAI is not planning any integration with World at the moment, a company representative said at the event.
