Elon Musk Has Changed His Display Name on X (formerly Twitter) to “Gorklon Rust”

Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of xAI, SpaceX, and Tesla, has stirred up a buzz among social media users by changing his display name on X (formerly Twitter) to "Gorklon Rust."

The new name appears to be a mashup of terms connected to Grok, the AI chatbot created by his company xAI, and Rust, which may refer to the Rust programming language said to be used in xAI's technical infrastructure.

Many users are left pondering the deeper meaning behind the name, considering Musk's history of cryptic online behavior.

It isn't the first time Musk has experimented with unconventional names on X. In the past, he briefly went by names like Harry Bolz and Kekius Maximus.

Those in the know may recognize "Gorklon Rust" as the name of a meme coin currently trading on Solana-based platforms like PumpSwap, Raydium, and Meteora.

Earlier this week, leaked benchmarks for Grok 3.5 were shared ahead of its official launch. The upcoming xAI chatbot reportedly outperformed Grok 3, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and o3 with higher scores.

However, some reports suggest that the leaked benchmarks may have been fabricated.

Despite this, the news of Grok 3.5's alleged capabilities has generated significant interest among AI enthusiasts.
