Elon Musk Has Changed His Display Name on X to 'Gorklon Rust'

Elon Musk, the billionaire chief of Tesla and xAI, has once more caught the attention of social media users. This time, it's not for a new product launch or a surprising announcement, but for a quirky display name change on X, formerly Twitter.

Musk is now known on the platform as 'Gorklon Rust,' a unique moniker that appears to fuse several references. 'Grok' is likely a nod to the new AI chatbot being developed by Musk's AI company, xAI, while 'Rust' could refer to the Rust programming language, which is reportedly part of xAI's technical setup.

This quirky display name is also the name of a meme coin circulating on the Solana blockchain. It is currently being traded on decentralized platforms such as PumpSwap, Raydium, and Meteora.

Musk's latest name change comes just 24 hours after he announced a major overhaul of X's recommendation algorithm. In a recent post, Musk stated that users should be seeing "significant improvement" in the algorithm.

Earlier this year, Musk had a brief stint as 'Harry Bolz' on X in February. He also adopted the display name 'Kekius Maximus' in December.

The name Kekius Maximus has recently entered the crypto scene, drawing inspiration from internet culture and cinematic lore. The character behind the token fuses the iconic Pepe the Frog meme with Maximus, the heroic figure from the film Gladiator.

This unique mash-up has given rise to KEKIUS, a meme-based cryptocurrency that combines humor with elements of decentralized finance (DeFi). Despite being based on a relatively obscure meme, KEKIUS has quickly gained traction in the crypto market.
