Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the toss and opted to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their IPL 2025 clash at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.

SRH come into the game following back-to-back losses and will be looking to get back to winning ways. They will also be hoping to keep the hopes of advancing to the playoffs alive.

CSK will be aiming for a third win of the season after two losses. They will also be hoping to get their campaign back on track with a crucial win here.

Both teams now need to win all their remaining matches to keep the hopes of qualification alive. A loss here could spell the end of the road for either side.

The game will also see Dhoni achieve another milestone, becoming the fourth Indian cricketer to play 400 T20 matches.

The two teams have made two changes each to their respective XIs.

For CSK, Brevis is set to make his season debut, while Deepak Hooda and Sam Curran return to the side. Out-of-form Rachin Ravindra has been left out.

SRH have brought back Shami into the playing XI, while Eshan Malinga has been dropped.

Both teams had a winning start to the season; however, they have struggled since.

The two teams met earlier in the season at the same venue where CSK emerged victorious by seven wickets.

This time around, both teams will be eager to get a win on the board and keep their respective campaigns alive.

The two teams will also be looking to put pressure on the young players who are performing well for both sides.

"We are coming off a couple of losses but its a new venue. We need a couple of partnerships to consolidate after early wickets.,” SRH skipper Cummins said following the toss.

“Wanted to bowl first. There was a lot of dew last night during practice. When you’re not playing good cricket, you transfer pressure to the young players. We need to enjoy cricket. It is important to take one game at a time rather than look at six games. We have not been sure of the wicket since it was relaid in 2010,” said CSK captain MS Dhoni.
