Mysterious TRUMP Token Holders Set for Dinner With Trump

May 19, 2025 at 12:00 am

With less than a week until President Donald Trump's private dinner for top meme coin holders, questions are arising about the identities and motivations of the largest holders of the $TRUMP token.

Mysterious TRUMP Token Holders Set for Dinner With Trump

Less than a week remains until President Donald Trump is set to host a private dinner for the largest holders of the TRUMP token at his Virginia golf club. But as the May 22 date approaches, questions are arising about the identities and motivations of these investors.

According to CNBC, which is reporting on the dinner, the meal will take place on May 22 at Trump’s golf club near Washington, D.C., and will bring together the top 220 holders of the TRUMP token. Those who will be attending have already been notified, while Monday marks the cutoff date for registering as one of the largest 220 TRUMP holders to be invited to the dinner.

However, many of the top holders are using pseudonymous wallets, adding a layer of mystery about these investors and where they are based.

Blockchain analytics firm Inca Digital, in documents seen by CNBC, is tracking the flow of the TRUMP tokens and shows where these tokens are being sent and from which exchanges they originate.

Many of the transactions are linked to international exchanges like Binance, which does not service U.S. customers, which could indicate that a good portion of the TRUMP token holders are not U.S. citizens.

International Influence in the TRUMP Token Ecosystem

Meanwhile, Bloomberg's analysis of the top 25 wallets and their activity suggests that 19 of them belong to individuals or entities outside of the U.S.

One of the most-mentioned names in the TRUMP token ecosystem is Justin Sun, the founder of the Tron blockchain. Sun has said he is buying up to $75 million of World Liberty Financial (W.L.F.C) tokens—which includes the TRUMP token—with 75% of the proceeds going to Trump-related entities.

Sun, who was born in China, is also said to be among the top holders of the TRUMP token. One wallet that has been linked to Sun is currently holding more than $18 million worth of the TRUMP token, with $4.5 million of that being invested after the dinner announcement, according to Bloomberg. Of the 220 TRUMP holders who are being invited to the dinner, 168 are new investors who registered for the W.L.F.C. token offering in December, while 52 are original holders of the TRUMP token from 2020.

The volatile nature of the TRUMP token is evident in the constant shifting of the leaderboard and the activity in these wallets. According to Inca Digital, 560,376 wallets have collectively realized $5.2 billion in gains on the TRUMP token. However, an equal number of wallets—592,962—have incurred a combined loss of $3.9 billion. This stark wealth divide underscores the speculative nature of the meme token, where early investors have reaped substantial profits but many others have faced significant losses.

Earlier reports by Chainalysis and Elliptic—two leading blockchain analytics firms—tracked the movements of the TRUMP tokens and the trading fees. But after CNBC covered the massive losses on the meme coin and how it is being sold at a loss on exchanges, both firms decided to step back from tracking the token. Both firms said they are still tracking other cryptocurrencies for their clients. Both firms said they have no plans to continue tracking the token. A report by Blockware on Monday also stated that both Chainalysis and Elliptic have dropped coverage of the TRUMP token.

Both firms are currently engaged in analyzing other cryptocurrencies according to the specific demands of their clients. In the case of Chainalysis, they are actively monitoring several cryptocurrencies for their clients, and they are not currently tracking any new tokens. Elliptic, on the other hand, is focusing on analyzing coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash for their institutional clients.
