MIT Bitcoin Expo Returns for Its 12th Annual Run, Exploring How Bitcoin Empowers Individuals Worldwide

The MIT Bitcoin Club—a passionate coalition of students, alumni, researchers, and community members—presents the 12th annual MIT Bitcoin Expo

The MIT Bitcoin Club is hosting the 12th annual MIT Bitcoin Expo on April 5-6.

The event will bring together students, alumni, researchers, and community members to discuss how Bitcoin and freedom technologies can empower individuals around the world.

This year's theme is "Freedom Tech," and the agenda will feature a mix of speakers and panels on topics such as:

* Bitcoin's role in resisting authoritarian control

* Physical liberation through technology

* The future of freedom tech

* Bitcoin technical analysis

* Corporate adoption of Bitcoin

* Countering state-sponsored crypto poisoning

* Advanced topics such as Bitcoin Pipes, Tor Project, quantum resistance, and more

The expo will also feature a $10,000-prize Freedom Tech Hackathon, where developers can compete to build new tools for privacy, censorship resistance, and financial sovereignty.

Past projects from the hackathon have gone on to secure funding from industry leaders, showcasing the best of MIT's "Mind and Hand" ethos in action.

This year, the expo will also include a special workshop by Anna Chekhovich from the Human Rights Foundation on Bitcoin self-custody 101.
