Hyperliquid's Token dethroned Tron in fee generation

Apr 26, 2025 at 05:27 pm

The crypto market saw a surprising shift over the past 24 hours, as Hyperliquid's token dethroned Tron in fee generation for the first time in weeks.

The crypto market saw a surprising shift over the past 24 hours, as Hyperliquid’s token (CRYPTO: HYPE) outperformed Tron (CRYPTO: TRX) in fee generation for the first time in weeks.

After a long stretch of dominance by Tron, the Hyperliquid Price Surge brought a major shakeup that caught the attention of traders and analysts.

With a 4.03% uptick in HYPE’s price and a slight 0.12% dip in TRX, the gap between the two assets has started to widen in favor of Hyperliquid.

However, this wasn’t just about price action. Underlying factors such as increased transaction volumes, higher on-chain activity, and growing decentralised exchange (DEX) engagement contributed heavily.

How Did HYPE Outperform Tron In Fee Generation?

In the past 24 hours, Hyperliquid set a new benchmark by generating $2 million in fees, while Tron managed $1.9 million.

Although the $100,000 gap may seem small, it marks a significant change in a market where Tron had previously dominated week after week. This milestone highlights the impact of the ongoing Hyperliquid Price Surge.

Transaction volume was a crucial factor. HYPE’s transaction count soared from 296.3 million to 424.5 million, showcasing a vibrant and growing ecosystem. In contrast, Tron’s transactions slightly dipped from 8.5 million to 8.4 million. The momentum was favouring HYPE with a notable spike in network activity.

Did DEX Trading Volumes Influence HYPE’s Rise?

The decentralized exchange sector also witnessed a major reshuffle. Over the past two days, Tron’s DEX trading volume remained relatively stagnant at $163.6 million.

Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s volume climbed from $153.9 million to an impressive $169.4 million, surpassing Tron. This surge contributed to the overall Hyperliquid Price Surge and strengthened HYPE’s position in the broader crypto market.

Additionally, spot trading volumes for HYPE also skyrocketed from $6.6 billion to $9.9 billion, almost breaching the $10 billion mark. This near double-digit achievement underscores the rising investor interest surrounding HYPE Price Surge.

New User Growth: A Hidden Strength For Hyperliquid

A major factor behind HYPE’s dominance is the protocol’s ability to attract new users. Data shows that Hyperliquid welcomed around 22,100 new unique users during this timeframe.

In stark contrast, Tron’s user retention remains low, with an average monthly retention rate of just 4%. The inflow of new participants has contributed to the HYPE Bullish Chart we are witnessing today. This level of organic growth sets a strong foundation for sustained expansion if the trend continues.

However, not everything is perfect for HYPE, and certain market metrics signal potential vulnerabilities ahead.

Can Hyperliquid Sustain This Lead Over Tron?

Despite the ongoing Hyperliquid Price Surge, concerns are rising regarding HYPE’s supply dynamics. The staked Native token metric, which tracks the amount of HYPE locked in staking, has seen a decline.

From a peak of 429.7 million, it has now fallen to 416.7 million. This means that 13 million HYPE tokens have entered circulation, possibly putting downward pressure on prices.

On the flip side, Tron is quietly strengthening its base. The amount of stablecoins deployed on the Tron network has reached an all-time high of $71.4 billion, showing deep liquidity and investor confidence. This could fuel a rally for TRX and challenge HYPE’s newly gained leadership.

Is The HYPE Real?

The Hyperliquid Price Surge has certainly turned heads, positioning HYPE ahead of Tron for the first time in a while. With higher transaction volumes, new user growth, and record DEX activity, HYPE’s momentum appears strong.

The excitement surrounding the HYPE Bullish Chart suggests that many believe this run is far from over.

However, risks like rising token supply and Tron’s increasing stablecoin reserves cannot be ignored. Whether Hyperliquid can maintain its edge depends heavily on how these factors play out in the coming days.

For now, the Hyperliquid Price Surge offers an exciting chapter in the evolving battle between HYPE and Tron, one that traders will watch closely as the story unfolds.
