Cristiano Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves are certainly some of the more unexpected guest characters

"Cristiano Ronaldo and Salvatore Ganacci in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves are certainly some of the more unexpected guest characters we've seen in a fighting game in recent times.
Now that the dust has settled on Evo Japan 2024, we're able to continue examining some of the more interesting tidbits that came out of the event. While casually talking to some notable figures in the FGC during a livestream of the tournament, Ganacci was asked who his favorite SNK character is—excluding himself as he could now technically be considered one.
When asked this, Salvatore Ganacci seemed immediately ready to provide an answer, but he waited for everyone else to finish chiming in before responding. He simply said "Garcia," and left it at that.
In other words, Ganacci is a big fan of Robert Garcia. The fact that he was able to name a character that isn't even in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves seemingly validates that he is a true fan of SNK fighting games.
This revelation provides us with a little more context about what's going on with Ganacci's victory animation in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. During this scene, he can be observed flipping and catching a coin.
The victory pose now makes a lot of sense (it's also the same coin) 😀#SNK #AoF #KOF #KOFXV #FatalFury #CotW #SalvatoreGanaccihttps://t.o/uWqmC6qm — Ryuu Sagami 龍 相美 (@RyuuSagami) March 12, 2024
Evidently, this is just like one of Robert Garcia's animation last seen in The King of Fighters 15. Funnily enough, this appears to be the exact same coin. This suggests that Ganacci might've even requested that this be an animation for his in-game character.
