There's a new coin that looks like a colorful dime with a boat sailing through blue waters. But it's worth a lot more than Canada's 10-cent coin!

Canada Mint Releases New Colorful Coin Featuring a Three-masted Schooner

A new coin has dropped, and it’s sure to have collectors in a frenzy.

Recently, the Royal Canadian Mint put out the Tall Ships : Three-masted Schooner - Fine Silver Coin.

This Canadian coin was designed by artist John M. Horton and features a starboard view of a three-masted schooner at full sail.

The starboard side of the boat is lifting as it sails, and there's a full cargo of lumber on the deck.

With this design and the raised etchings of clouds and seabirds, it looks like the boat is sailing in the open ocean on a windy day.

Canada's new coin is enhanced with selective colour, including blue for the water, red for the flag atop the ship, and beige for the ship's sails. It has a face value of $15.

It's also reminiscent of the 10-cent coin, which features another schooner, Bluenose.

It was actually Canada's flag after confederation, and it combined the Union Jack with variations of the shield of Canada, according to the Mint.

The Canadian Red Ensign was replaced by the Maple Leaf flag in 1965.

King Charles effigy on Tall Ships : Three-masted Schooner Fine Silver Coin.Royal Canadian MintThe obverse side of the coin features the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.

Unlike dimes, this isn't a coin that will be entering common circulation. That means you'll have to pay for it if you want it.

The Tall Ships : Three-masted Schooner coin costs $99.95 and can be purchased through the Royal Canadian Mint.

There is a limited mintage of 15,000 of these colourful coins.
